With past experience in Fashion Design, I approached this project with the intent to take inspiration and design elements from the illuminations of Hildegard von Bingen and create modern ready to wear fashions. A blend of structured forms and loose details allow for the imagination to grow between the design and draft of the garments. Keeping flexible but assertive is a key attitude in any fashion designer’s arsenal.
My adoration for illuminated manuscripts and strive for recognition of historical women gave me the push to go beyond clothing and make a statement.
